Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, the President of the University of Zakho, participated in a cultural event organized by the Indian Consulate General in Erbil to commemorate India's 74th Republic Day on January 26, 2024. The event was attended by numerous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) officials and diplomats based in the Kurdish region.
The existing relations between India and the University of Zakho are currently at a good level, and the university is looking forward to developing it further. In alignment with this objective, the university dedicated a specific area in the College of Humanities library for the books donated by the Indian Consulate, officially referred to as the “Indian Corner.”
It is noteworthy to highlight that eight faculty members from the university took part in the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program, a fully funded initiative by the Government of India. This collaboration underscores the commitment of the University to enhance academic and professional ties with India.
